• In 1997, a group of doctors active in the field of Coloproctology, incorporated to form Hong Kong Society For Coloproctology.

• The inaugural meeting of the society was held on 10 January 1998. Dr. Kwok, Po-Yin Samuel was elected as the first President of the society.
